AS IT celebrates the launch of its new site (which went live yesterday - take a look), GQ.COM has announced its list of the most important men in British fashion - and the top 100 have been judged on more than just their financial muscle. As well as business acumen, the team has also appraised their creativity and social connections, coming up with a list with some likely suspects - and some more surprising choices.
Sir Philip Green, perhaps unsurprisingly, tops the list for his power and reach followed by Sir Harold Tillman and Selfridges ceo Paul Kelly. Designers Sir Paul Smith, Christopher Bailey and John Galliano also make the top 10, but perhaps more unexpected is the inclusion of Robert Pattison inside the top 5.
"He's today's ultimate male fashion icon," the GQ.COM team says.

The second installment of Bluewater Productions’ new comic book line, Fame, features none other than your favorite sparkle vamp. The 32-pager doesn’t hit comic book stores and Amazon.com until May, but E! News has the exclusive first look.
The issue, written by Kim Sherman and drawn by Nathaniel Ooten, with the cover created by Juan Mar Studios, delves into the star’s music, modeling and of course those dreamy roles he played in the Harry Potter and Twilight movies.
“I chose to conceptualize A-lister Robert Pattinson from a unique perspective, immersing the reader into the life of the talented actor beyond his most famous role,” Sherman says. “It’s our hope that even the most devoted fans will discover a fact or two that takes them completely by surprise,” Bluewater president Darren G. Davis says.

She spent some time in the chilly climate of Park City, Utah at the Sundance Film Festival as of late, and yesterday (January 25) Kristen Stewart was spotted arriving back in Los Angeles.
The “Twilight” babe looked to be in good spirits as she hung out with a group of friends after flying back into LAX International Airport.
As for her upcoming release “The Runaways,” Kristen confessed that while many audience members may be looking forward to seeing her kiss Dakota Fanning, it wasn’t a big deal for them.
“It’s just something we did. In this story, it’s so not a romantic thing. It’s just something that they just do. We had so many other really crazy things that we were intimidated by, like, we had a performance that day. So when that came up on the schedule we were like: ‘Whoa!’ But then ‘Alright, whatever.’ It was sort of just like another thing.”

Sundance: Kristen Stewart and Dakota Fanning rock out in 'The Runaways,' but the movie itself is no knockout From the moment I arrived at Sundance, the movie that more or less everyone, including me, wanted to see most was The Runaways — and not just because it offered the chance to see whether Kristen Stewart, as Joan Jett, could leave her swoony Twilight mopiness behind her and play a rock & roll princess with down-and-dirty spunk. (Verdict: She can.) It’s also because the Runaways, a packaged group of choppy-haired teen-glam feline punkettes from L.A. who, in 1976, did for girls playing power chords what the Sex Pistols did for beer-spewing anarchy, may seem cooler now than they did then. In hindsight, they blazed quite a trail, but they didn’t have many good songs — and even their best one, “Cherry Bomb,” never quite broke free of their jailbait novelty-act image.

Being involved in the Twilight saga is fun, but all those vampires, fans and piles of money can really start to take their toll on a girl. That’s why Kristen Stewart, 19, told HollywoodLife.com she liked filming The Runaways when we talked to her at the movie’s big Sundance premiere Jan. 24 in Park City, Utah. “It’s really nice to do something that’s not reconstituted,” she told us. “It’s nice to change it up.”
And “change it up” she did! Kristen said she had just three weeks to go from emotional black hole Bella Swan to mullet-sporting rocker Joan Jett. “She looks bad ass with her strut and her stance, but she really just stands for what she thinks is right,” Kristen told us of her character, and new personal mentor, Joan. “I can totally relate to that, so it was comfortable. You just have to not think about it.”
As for The Runaways’ target audience, Kristen told us anyone who believes in girl power will probably find something to relate to in the flick. “Anyone who has convictions like Joan will appreciate the movie,” she told us.

Kristen Stewart, 19, may seem like a moody loner in photographs, but Joan Jett, 51, says she’s actually a lot of fun! Joan spoke with HollywoodLife.com at the Jan. 24 Sundance premiere of The Runaways in Park City, Utah, and she told us what working with (and teaching) Kristen was really like. “I had seen her on the movies and magazine covers, but I wasn’t colored by that,” she told us. “I found her to be down to earth, authentic and warm.”
She also said Kristen barely had to be given any direction when assuming the role of rocker Joan. “I didn’t give her any tips,” she said. “She took me in, she studied the Runaways music, she watched me and listened to my voice. I gave her some recordings of me talking… when I was 14. I had a Maryland/Pennsylvania accent that she wanted. She had pictures … she had books … she did her own thing.”
Wow! Who knew Kristen could be such a quick study?
And how did Joan feel about watching Kristen become her? “I thought it was really freaky,” Joan admitted.

If you think being a major movie star means you’re comfortable with your own identity, think again! HollywoodLife.com chatted with Dakota Fanning, 15, at the Jan. 24 premiere of The Runaways in Park City, Utah, and she told us she relates to her character, Cherie Curie, through shared insecurities. “There are a lot of things that she’s been going through that I may never go through,” she said. “But I can understand being 15 and not knowing who are you while in the middle of being in the scene.”
Dakota told us she was inspired by Joan Jett and Cherie’s lives and careers, as they paved the way for other outspoken female artists. “Growing up as a girl now you can do whatever you want,” she said. “That was a time when that was not OK and girls being in a rock & roll band was not the norm. Learning about that struggle was really interesting.”
And of course we asked her about working with her co-star, Kristen Stewart! Dakota said she and Kristen, 19, got really close while shooting the movie last summer. “We just had so much fun on set,” Dakota gushed. “It was like spending the summer with your friends, hanging out — except on camera!”
Oh, and in case you’re wondering about Dakota’s future as a singer — sorry to disappoint! Dakota said she enjoyed it in the movie, but has no plans to get in the studio herself.

Kristen Stewart fans pretends like she knows about The Runaways, Welcome to the Rileys Tanya Burlington, 15, was busted Tuesday for not knowing that Twilight star Kristen Stewart was in two film projects currently playing at the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah. Burlington, a longstanding member of Team Bella, was asked if she saw the recently released still photos from The Runaways and Welcome to the Rileys, which were posted to all of her friends Facebook accounts.
“Yeah, I saw them. She looked so good, I was like, yeah…so good,” says the Gullard High School sophomore. “I liked that one where she’s smiling. She’s so cute there…smiling and stuff.”
“That’s when I knew she was full of [expletive],” said Tanya’s BFF, Meghan. “Kristen doesn’t smile in movies. Ever. Unless she is cracking wise at an amusement park set in the ’80s, only to have depressed sex with Ryan Reynolds later. Any real fan of K-Stew knows that. Well, almost every one.”
Written and directed by Floria Sigismondi, The Runaways is a rock biopic centering on Joan Jett and her early days with the band The Runaways. Stewart plays Jett with fellow New Moon co-star Dakota Fanning playing band-mate Cherie Currie.

He may not have won the part of Conan The Barbarian, but The Twilight Saga: New Moon and The Twilight Saga: Eclipse star Kellan Lutz is past that . . . and, according to Just Jared, he's already signed on for a new picture.
The film is to be entitled Love, Wedding, Marriage, and Lutz will reportedly portray the husband of a marriage counselor whose parents split up, causing her (portrayed by Mandy Moore) to go into career mode to try and reconcile them. The director of the project is going to be My Best Friend's Wedding star Dermot Mulroney, and this will be his first stint as a director.
This will be Mandy Moore's second recent wedding-oriented film, after 2007's License To Wed (with Robin Williams and The Office star John Krasinski).

“Twilight” fans are in for a shock. Beautiful, virginal Bella Swan has morphed into a smoking, cussing 16-year-old New Orleans stripper/sex worker marked with bruises and scars named Mallory. Or Alison, actually.
Kristen Stewart, who has drawn legions of devoted followers to her as “Twilight’s” conflicted protagonist, flips that portrayal on its head for “Welcome to the Rileys,” the very R-rated indie drama that premiered Saturday at the Racquet Club Theatre at Sundance. Stewart is raw, feral, feisty and utterly believable in ways that should remind everyone that she has chops well beyond teenaged vampire soap operas.
Tomorrow she stars in the premiere of “The Runaways,” which Apparition has already slotted for a March release. That should seal the deal for any doubters.
Unfortunately, Stewart’s younger fans are unlikely to see “Rileys,” since it features a pot-smoking Stewart tossing off lines about her cooter, handjobs, anal sex and how “I’m not gonna fuck your German shepherd.” Most of this is delivered in stages of undress or in her dancing get-up at the Dixie Divas club, including red Xs taped across her breasts, fishnets, a g-string and five-inch heels.
All of this is couched in a melancholy story about a middle-aged Indianapolis couple played by James Gandolfini and Melissa Leo numbed by the death of their daughter who eventually become entangled with Stewart’s Alison in New Orleans in a misguided effort to “save” her. The film is well-acted, -directed and -written, but suffers from an implausibility in its triggering premise.
Stewart was on-hand after the screening, hooded, arms crossed, and struggled to articulate just how she lived with the character and learned to understand what her life was like. As is often the case with Stewart’s public appearances, her intense efforts to verbalize her thoughts came off as endearing.
Regardless, the excited pre-show chatter and fawning audience members proved that Stewart’s star is unlikely to be tarnished anytime soon.

Hi! This new is older a bit, but Nikki's movie "Thirteen" made a list over at the site called New York Post. Actually, I think this is a really nice article and it's called "Decade's Most Memorable Female Movie Roles". It was more of Evan Rachel Wood, but Nikki was mentioned there, too. Take a look! Congrats, Nikki! In this list, there were featured people like "Million Dollar Baby's" Maggie Fitzgerald or "Devil Wears Prada's" Miranda Priestly.
10. "Thirteen's" Tracy Louise Freeland
Evan Rachel Wood was a parents' worst nightmare as 13-year-old Tracy in "Thirteen." The straight-A student succumbs to the fast, self-destructive and rebellious influences of best friend Evie (Nikki Reed) and barrels down a tortured road checkered with drugs, cutting and crime. The movie's most harrowing fact is that it's Reed's true story, who penned the flick with director Catherine Hardwicke and actually plays the villain instead of herself.

TWILIGHT fans are such an excitable bunch I'm wary of even letting this out the bag for fear of the hysteria it will unleash. But here we go... ROBERT PATTINSON has been approached by SIMON COWELL to sign a major record deal.
The young actor has been told he can basically write his own cheque.
To make things even sweeter for Robert, other record companies have got wind of the offer and a bidding war has broken out. Robert, who plays vampire Edward Cullen in the Twilight films, is a keen musician who plays piano and guitar. The star has even contributed songs to the Twilight soundtracks. His pipes are pretty good too and record bosses reckon his singing voice could turn out to be a big money-spinner.
A source said: "Robert is reluctant to be turned into a pop star - and takes his music very seriously.
"He is a bit wary of signing up with Cowell who is, of course, associated with X Factor and pop."
I also envisage a big problem if Robert ever wishes to perform live. His teenage fans are so unhinged the screaming would be worse than The Beatles at Shea Stadium. No wonder Simon wants to get his teeth into him...
Twilight Saga: New Moon stars Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart are no longer dating in secret ROBERT Pattinson and his Twilight Saga co-star Kristen Stewart are finally publicly dating.
Twilight heartthrob Robert Pattinson, who has been dating his co-star Kristen Stewart for over a year, has decided the pair no longer need to keep their romance quiet. The couple have decided to openly date when they return to film the fourth movie, Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, later this year.
A source said: “Rob and Kristen are very happy, and everyone that’s part of the franchise is so happy for them. They don’t feel the need to hide it anymore.” Meanwhile, Robert's Remember Me co-star Emilie de Ravin says she had instant chemistry with the 23-year-old on set. She said: "They’d been looking to cast my role for a while, looking at a lot of different girls. I read the script three weeks before they started shooting. "I flew to New York to test with Rob and we immediately got along and had instant great chemistry, which is not an easy thing to come by.
“Obviously you’re acting, but you want to have that connection with somebody. We had it. And I was thrown into a wardrobe fitting that same day.” And Emilie says she didn't realise just how famous Rob was until the pair were filming together in New York.
She said: “There were a lot of crazy moments where you’re filming on location and you’re waiting for people to get out of the shot. People don’t want to move. Rob and I would laugh about that.
“We were rehearsing, and you become so self-conscious of people watching you, and we both stopped and looked at each other and were like, “Wait, what are we doing?” You’re taken out of your work mentality with hundreds of people watching you when you’re just trying to figure out your scene."

Sony Pictures has released a small, very under the radar horror flick once known as Summer's Blood and now Summer's Moon. Released in November the flick stars Ashley Greene (The Twilight Saga: Eclipse), Peter Mooney (Scalpers), Stephen McHattie (Pontypool), and Barbara Niven (Dead at 17). Involving serial killers and incest, Summer's Moon is sure to push some buttons (hopefully not the off button). Some details did come out in November, but have a look at the full synopsis for Summer's Moon before the film fades in to complete obscurity.
A plotline for Summer's Moon:
"Hardened teenager Summer (Ashley Greene) is on the road looking to meet her estranged father. Her only clue to his whereabouts is a letter from a rural community called Massey.
Once she arrives in town Summer is rescued from a run-in with the law by a charming local handyman named Tom Hoxey (Peter Mooney). The couple quickly hit it off and head back to the house Tom shares with his mother Gaia (Barbara Niven), a woman who also happens to be his lover!
Continues:
Knocked unconscious by the demented couple, Summer is bound with chains inside a box filled with dirt. Surrounded by lush plants, grow lights, human skulls and a girl on the verge of death named Amber (Dani Kind), Summer is the latest flower in Tom’s Human Garden!
Realizing that her only chance for escape is to manipulate Tom, Summer begins an unusual relationship with the troubled young man. Anxious about the return of his own father Gant (Stephen McHattie), a serial killer who moonlights as a traveling salesman—and dealing with the rising suspicions of Amber’s father Darwin (Peter Dillon), Tom finds himself drawn closer to Summer than he ever imagined."

Rachelle Lefevre is not one to break New Year's resolutions. Just three days after a Dec. 30 Tweet announcing that she planned to adopt a dog, the Twilight star and actor-boyfriend Jamie Thomas King went to Baldwin Park, a Los Angeles-area high-kill shelter, and rescued not one but two pups! "They were both on the 'at risk' list," Lefevre tells PEOPLEPets.com. "If no one rescued them within the week they were going to be put down." In an instant, cocker spaniel Momma Bear and miniature poodle Jack Sprat were given a second chance at life.
Lefevre, a big proponent of animal rescue, lost her dog Honey on Dec. 17. "Jamie and I miss her every day and still talk about her all the time," she says. "When you take on the responsibility of an animal you know that if nature goes according to plan, then most likely you will outlive them — it's just part of the deal." So Lefevre decided that rescuing a new pooch (or two!) would honor Honey in the sweetest way.
Immediately after adopting Momma Bear, 5, and Jack Sprat, 4 — both of whom she felt an "instant connection" to — Lefevre took them to the Healthy Spot for a bath and a trim. "They were so dirty and Momma Bear's coat was a mess," she says. "After baths and haircuts they were so much happier and more comfortable, so bonding was easier."
Now, the pups are settling well into their new home. "We haven't experienced a single moment of aggression from them," Lefevre boasts. "They follow us into every room like, 'Now what are we doing?' It's amazing!"
Though Lefevre is happy to give them free reign, Big Momma does have some rules — particularly when it comes to her diet. Tweeting that the pup has to lose 10 lbs., the actress says she's put her on a low-calorie, organic meal plan. "She gets a hike every day, no exceptions. But even in the time we've had her, she's had twice as much energy and already looks better." As for people food? Only when Lefevre boils chicken breast — "which they lose their minds for!"

Everyone knows that talk is cheap. Yesterday, the chatter was so vociferous that the director of Sundance had to step in and defend the festival's decision to include two films starring Kristen Stewart.
Today, it's Team 411 (@KStew411) who has a thing or two to say about the matter.
Every January Hollywood descends on Park City, Utah for the Sundance Film Festival and Hollywood and independent filmmaking rub elbows up and down Main Street for ten days. I love film festivals, especially ones like Sundance that are also markets for distributors to pick up films for release. Without festivals like this we would never see movies like Napoleon Dynamite or Frozen River. And Sundance is especially unique for its combination of genuine independent filmmaking (the festival being in a symbiotic relationship with Robert Redford’s Sundance Institute) and straight up Hollywood excess. Park City will be overrun with agents, studio reps, paparazzi, and celebrities. This year’s star roster includes James Franco, Ryan Gosling, the Affleck brothers, Kristen Stewart, Dakota Fanning, James Gandolfini—you get the idea. Of course there are those who get bent out of shape over the “crass intrusion of Hollywood” in the form of these celebs and agents et al. I would argue without their influence Sundance would have died long ago. Sundance is what it is—both a celebration of independent filmmaking and Hollywood success.
This year everyone is picking on Kristen Stewart, who has rocketed to uber-fame courtesy the Twilight Saga franchise. There’s vocal protest over her having two films at Sundance 2010--Joan Jett biopic The Runaways and Welcome to the Rileys, in which she plays a teenage stripper/prostitute opposite James Gandolfini and fellow Sundance regular Melissa Leo as a grieving couple. In 2008, Kristen had two films at Sundance (The Yellow Handkerchief and What Just Happened) and no one said a word. No one cared about her screening a movie back in 2004 (Speak) or even last year when, already famous thanks to Twilight, she showed to support Adventureland. It happens every year—some celebrity is singled out as being “anti the Sundance ideal,” it’s just ironic that this year they’ve picked an actress who has made several previous trips to the festival and, in spite of her recent success, is still referred to as an indie actress.
Kristen makes an easy target. Ever since Sundance announced their lineup her two entries have been among the most anticipated films of the festival. Welcome to the Rileys is one of the most-screened movies of the whole festival. And The Runaways is causing all kinds of ruckus, largely thanks to Kristen’s--and costar Dakota Fanning’s--high profile, but also aided by Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, who will be at the festival and playing a concert the night before the movie’s premiere at Harry O’s in Park City. The Runaways premiere will be a full-on media circus, with Welcome to the Rileys being almost just as mad. It is, after all, the “Bella stripper movie.”
Which brings us to the crux of the problem. They’re not rejecting Kristen Stewart as unworthy of Sundance--they’re rejecting Bella. The indie scenesters are holding Twilight against KStew. (Do they hold Blade Trinity against Parker Posey?) This is the eternal struggle of Sundance: indie vs. Hollywood. It’s the debate that will rage throughout Park City over the next ten days, how big of a role should the Hollywood machine play in a film festival dedicated to finding a nurturing outsider talent without “studio interference”. Many dedicated festival goers despise the machine’s presence at Sundance and bemoan what they perceive as the cheapening of the festival because of it. Right now, Kristen embodies that dichotomy. She’s an established indie actress who is also the face of a major Hollywood franchise.
What Kristen Stewart is doing this year is shining a light on the uneasy partnership between independent and mainstream filmmaking. People like to talk about this as an “us versus them” situation, but the reality is the line distinguishing the two is increasingly obscured. Director Christopher Nolan first broke out with the Sundance hit Memento in 2000 and today he is best known as the chief of the rebooted Batman franchise. More recently, the director of Sundance 2009 sleeper hit (500) Days of Summer, Mark Webb, just signed on to helm the Spider Man reboot. Actors cross over even more than directors. Also attending Sundance this year is James Franco, a veteran of the Spider Man films and he of the soap opera stint. He’s starring in another of the festival’s most-anticipated films, Howl. Ben Affleck, one of the most over-exposed celebrities in recent memory, will be at the festival with The Company Men. And Josh Radnor, star of the television show How I Met Your Mother, is making his directorial debut with happythankyoumoreplease, in which he also stars.
Yet KStew is taking all the heat. She embodies the ultimate destruction of the “us-and-them” dichotomy. She proves that both independent and mainstream filmmaking can coexist in one career. And she does it with an unapologetic attitude that simultaneously tells Hollywood she won’t forsake her indie roots and tells the indie scene she won’t ignore or apologize for mainstream opportunities. Indie scenesters often resent Hollywood for seemingly taking away their top talent, and Hollywood has always kind of treated indies as second-class movie citizens. That sort of pigeonholing gets in the way of what’s most important: the quest for good movies. At the end of the day, it’s not how the movie got made, but whether or not it’s any good that matters.
Thoughts?
